Delorice’s Florist has been a cherished part of our community for more than fifty years. Mrs. Delorice founded the shop in 1968, building a reputation for exceptional florals and heartfelt service. During her 30 years as owner and designer, she comforted families in times of loss, celebrated countless birthdays, and helped make anniversaries and Valentine’s Days truly special. She was a remarkable woman whose vision laid the foundation for a business that would serve generations.
Twenty years ago, Delorice’s grandson, Randy Wooten, carried the business forward into a new era. Randy’s talent for floral design was extraordinary, and his Christmas décor became something the community looked forward to each year. While growing the business, he remained deeply committed to the values Delorice’s was built upon. Randy also devoted himself to mentoring the next generation of floral designers through the National FFA Organization.
One of those students was me, Kara Adams.
I trained under Randy for years and went on to become a state winner in floral design. Over time, Randy became like family, and he ignited a passion in me that would shape my life’s work and eventually lead me back to Delorice’s.
Encouraged by community leader Francis Lott, I attended Georgia Tech before returning home with the goal of contributing to the community that raised me. I began my own wedding design business, Kara Adams Designs, specializing in beautiful celebrations and custom florals.
A few years later, Randy offered me the opportunity of a lifetime—to carry forward the Delorice’s legacy.
My husband, Dawson, and I purchased Delorice’s Florist on January 1, 2024, and began ushering in the next chapter of the shop. While honoring the traditions that built Delorice’s, we have expanded the store to include carefully curated home décor, gifts, and bridal registries alongside the beautiful florals our community has loved for decades.
We are incredibly grateful for the support we have received and deeply honored to continue the Delorice’s legacy for generations to come.
